   Seeking a compassionate, independent, and Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team!

Superior Animal Hospital is seeking a full time Veterinary Technician to join our wonderful team of 7 veterinarians and 40+ support staff. We are an AAHA accredited practice who has been voted “Best of the Best” Veterinary Clinic in the Twin Ports area. Our beautiful, well-equipped hospital has digital radiology, digital dental radiology, fully equipped laboratory, ultrasound, and therapy laser. Our doctors work as a team to highly utilize and develop our technicians and assistants. We emphasize a positive workplace culture with a strong commitment to providing the best care possible to the animals of our community. We offer referral to radiology, surgery, and dermatology specialists that regularly visit our clinic to enhance the high quality of care we provide.

Applicants must have completed veterinary technician school/program, a strong work ethic, positive personality, communicate effectively, ability to multi-task, and a passion for delivering exceptional care. Candidates must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds. Technician responsibilities include laboratory sample collection and testing, prepping, and assisting for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, and patient care.

Schedule: 
This is a full-time need at 40 hours/week. Will work 4 10 hour shifts Monday-Friday. No weekends!
 
Pay:
Hourly range between $21/hr-$26/hr. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes 
  • Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement 
  • Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears) 
  • Perform diagnostic imaging 
  • Perform anesthesia 
  • Prep patients for and assist in surgery 
  • Perform dental prophies 
  • Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable) 
  • Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients 
  • Communicate with and educate clients 
  • Provide compassionate patient care
