Who are we looking for?
Applicants must have a strong work ethic, preserve a positive personality, be capable of communicating effectively, be able to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to work in harmony with a team, possess a well-rounded technical skill set, and have a passion for delivering exceptional care to patients as well as clients. CVT certification not required but preferred. Assisting in surgery/dentistry experience is nice to have, but not required since we are looking for evening help, and is always a plus as we grow and positions open up. We crosstrain everyone to work all positions in the hospital - reception/exam/lab/patient care, etc.

Schedule: Mainly 1:30 PM to close (around 9:30PM give or take), 12:30 to 6:30/7:00PM and Saturdays (at least 2 per month). May need during day as fill-in if candidate is flexible.

Salary: Compensation for this position is $16-19/hr depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes
  • Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
  • Obtain laboratory sample collection, process, and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
  • Perform diagnostic imaging
  • Perform anesthesia
  • Prep patients for and assist in surgery
  • Perform dental prophies
  • Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
  • Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
  • Communicate with and educate clients
  • Provide compassionate patient care
